The beautiful bone china plate commemorates the decisive role played by The Dover Patrol and other squadrons of the RAF in the defence of Britain in 1942. The plate depicts Spitfires from no III squadron RAF patrolling the Kent coastline. In the foreground, is the Mark 5B Spitfire, known as 'O Bandierante', which was presented by the people of Brazil in 1942 and was flown by Squadron leader H W Wickham, Gold rim.
