This bone china plate is the first in the series. It depicts the owl and the pussycat from the Edward Lear poem, aboard their boat. The scalloped border is inscribed:

"The owl and the pussycat went to sea, In a beautiful pea-green boat, They took some honey and plenty of money, Wrapped up in a five pound note."
